Collaborative Learning

Meet Emma and Beau, our Transition to Work participants who have taken charge of their career paths and are investing in their futures.

In February 2023, Emma sought guidance from Workskills to help her determine her career direction. She had always been interested in many things and had a dilemma in selecting the optimal path. On the other hand, Beau was employed in a customer service role at Woolworths but had a strong passion for shoes and desired to explore that aspect of the retail sector. Despite having customer service experience, Beau required formal qualifications to set himself apart in the job market.

Fortunately, the Transition to Work program assisted Emma and Beau in identifying their abilities and strengths. Following the suggestion of their youth coach, Elloise, they enrolled in Certificate III in Retail and are thoroughly enjoying the experience. They also attend the monthly study sessions led by our Activity Officers Sarah and Shanaiah, and keep all their notes organised using the study packs.
