If you knew Oscar a few weeks ago, you might not recognise him today!
Meet Oscar, one of our Transition to Work (TtW) participants and a passionate gamer. Recently, Oscar had an appointment at Thread Together for a wardrobe refresh, walking in with his trademark long, flowing hair. But this visit marked more than just a wardrobe makeover.
Oscar made the bold decision to cut his hair—a great move reflecting his commitment to securing a corporate IT role. This transformation is about more than looks; it reflects his focus and determination to achieve his goals.
Oscar has shown incredible growth in the program over the past 18 months while staying committed to his vision. After completing his Certificate IV in IT from Tas TAFE, he is now diligently building an impressive portfolio showcasing his design and IT expertise.
With proficiency in Python and C++, he is ready to learn whatever new skills the industry demands. If things don’t go as planned, Oscar is already considering further studies in Web Development to expand his skill set. His TtW coach, Eva, has guided him every step of the way and couldn’t be prouder of his progress.
As Oscar transitions to Workforce Australia Services from TtW, his new coach, Eliza, is eager to harness his enthusiasm and help him secure that dream role. He has already excelled in his mock interview with our ESO, Akshay, and might have also shared his prospective employer’s wish-list with him.
