ParentsNext Extraordinary Milestones

Sarah and Ellen’s stories reiterate that even seemingly ordinary moments can become extraordinary milestones with the willingness to embrace growth and set modest goals, and positively shaping your mindset. Their journeys of self-discovery and resilience were made possible through the transformative support of ParentsNext, provided by Workskills Tasmania.

Having dedicated years to raising her children, Sarah found purpose in volunteering every fortnight. Little did she know that these acts of service to her community were not merely gestures of kindness but key a catalyst for her personal growth. The ParentsNext program recognised Sarah’s potential and provided support, charting a path for her progress. Sarah achieved significant milestones with unyielding determination, including acquiring her Working with Vulnerable Peoples check. She now sets her sights on obtaining a forklift license, provide options for future career paths.

Ellen linked with ParentsNext as a voluntary participant. She has two young children but was motivated to enter the workforce and work towards her employment goals. With the guidance of ParentsNext, Ellen mustered the courage to take those first steps, crafting a powerful cover letter and resume and obtaining her Working with Vulnerable Peoples check. These achievements gave Ellen the confidence she needed to pursue job opportunities. We are in awe of her remarkable transformation and wholeheartedly believe that she is on the cusp of securing meaningful employment as her spirit continues to shine.

Sarah and Ellen’s journeys remind us that every significant accomplishment originates from our willingness to embrace growth.
