Take a moment to congratulate Emily for her significant personal growth. With the help of Transition to Work and Troublesmiths, Emily found the clarity she needed to take control of her future, and we are incredibly delighted to share her extraordinary journey.
Since starting with Transition to Work, Emily has taken significant steps towards her goals. Gaining her learner’s licence, RSA and barista qualifications, Emily demonstrated outstanding commitment to learning and development. It also marked the beginning of her journey toward understanding herself better.
A real change moment was when she participated in Troublesmiths, Workskills youth social enterprise, an experience she describes as transformative. The program helped her discover her strengths and inspired her to pursue a career in Community Services. She commenced a CERT III in Community Services with TasTAFE in February 2023.
Emily’s Workskills coach identified that Emily would benefit from a new laptop to support her studies and so supported her to apply to the Job Ready Fund (via Searson Buck Group) to supply this. Emily is so grateful for this support, “It is so much better than my old laptop – that was ancient! It really helps me keep up to speed with my studies.”
She is now just one unit away from completing her course and is excited about the prospect of a rewarding career in the community services industry. We are confident that she holds the tools and resources necessary to succeed at what’s ahead.
