A QUICK RECAP: We had a fantastic time at the Huon Valley Jobs Expo in Huonville last week. Congratulations, Southern Employment & Training Network, for hosting such a successful event! The Expo brought together a diverse mix of industry leaders, training and education providers, employers, and the jobseekers.
It was great to see many familiar faces and our Workskills program partners Dress for Success Hobart, Area Connect, and @Nick Probert – out in force supporting the local job seekers. It was especially good to witness our Troublesmiths, actively engaging throughout the Expo.
The students from the @trades and the training centre ensured we were well-caffeinated while we evaluated their coffee-making skills for their course completion certificates. Participants at the Expo had the chance to learn and access many exciting free courses offered by the University of Tasmania and our staff also took advantage of the community services courses.
At our stall we had a number of meaningful conversations with enthusiastic individuals. @Sophie Salic and @Samantha Loveridge represented us, offering insights on interview techniques and one-on-one interview guidance, and giving participants practice of the STAR method. It was a valuable experience for everyone involved to network with other professionals, business owners, and community members who share a similar passion for empowering individuals to realise their employment and training goals.
