Liam, an early school leaver, joined Transition to Work to explore potential employment opportunities and access tailored guidance and resources. The Liam we initially knew was hesitant to approach employers due to his shyness and lack of experience. Through his participation in the program, he has become increasingly proactive and determined. Regular sessions with his youth coach, Shairen, have helped him improve his interpersonal skills and take initiative in his job search.
Liam has now secured a job with the Police & Citizens Youth Club and is loving it! While working as an after-school care team member, he continues working with us to obtain his driver’s license and complete a certificate course through TtW to solidify his career path.
Liam’s journey highlights the TtW program’s holistic approach. Along with a core employment and education focus, our team also work with young people to achieve their broader life goals like communication skills and transport independence.
